Sam Altman, AI ahead and going for a walk..
This is not just another post about Sam Altman leaving OpenAI.
It’s about where people like Sam Altman are going, and the recent occurrence at OpenAI may have been a result of it.
AI is still at its infancy stage. And commercializing it at scale, as much as it may generate huge revenues today, will still create a bigger risk to the entire model, and raise questions about ethical use of data, fair representation to original content creators, equal access opportunities, valuation of users based on real merit etc.
There are already businesses who are productizing AI and launching AI driven devices. e.g. Humane - with its AI Pin. A wearable designed to replace your smartphone. And incidentally, Sam is a key investor in Humane.
The amount of tools, platforms and integrations that have come to market, and the different types of subscription models that they have created is proof of the productization and commercialization of AI.
Microsoft is today integrating AI into its products in the form of Copilot, and this is thus a reality for all to align with and integrate with AI in their day to day work and life.
Sam Altman, and and people like him, will definitely be building more. They are probably working on the next ChatGPT, or the next version of AI Pin, or copilot for that matter. Or the AI version of iPhone. This is bound to happen, unless he returns back to OpenAI.
I believe it is a 2 pronged or 2 way street - Businesses and platforms should ethically launch AI driven products and be sober on the commercialization models, and users should take a balanced approach on using the same. Using it to drive productivity rather than as a replacement for their own genuine creativity.
Let’s do something more Human for a change.
Go for a Walk!
A walk can change your Perspective. Your Mindset. Your Life.
There are very few issues, conflicts or challenges that a simple, walk cannot help you with.
Apart from the physical exercise it provides, a good walk helps you clear the noise in your mind and review complex thoughts clearly.
Soak in the surroundings - the sunlights, breeze, the sound of birds or maybe just passing traffic, and this change of environment also creates a change of energy that drives creativity and innovation in thought and course of action.
Spending time in Nature is one of the best ways to rejuvenate yourself.
If you will, record your thoughts on your phone or even voice type. Reading your own thoughts or listening to your own voice later on is a great experience to know yourself.
A lot of my own well-being, and progress is driven by going for a walk.
Do you take a walk? Would love to know in the poll below:
What is your therapy for building up your energy?
let me know in your feedback.
Have a good week.
